UK Green Energy Installations Installs All Chargers

UKGEI is an independent installer based in Fleet, Hampshire and an installer of car chargers including Zappi, ROLEC, and Andersen EV and is an approved installer for GivEnergy batteries and inverters.  Choose from a range of chargers such as super-fast chargers, chargers that you can use with solar, discreet chargers, and chargers you can be designed with your branding.

Navigating Solar Installation with Skylights and Rooflights

Having a skylight or rooflight designed into your property shouldn’t put you off solar installation.
As long as you find a good installer that can work with you to maximise your roof capacity while navigating your property features, you can have your cake and eat it!

There are some recommendations regarding installation to allow access to skylights for cleaning.

For example, we recommend with commercial skylights there is a 600mm gap between the skylights and the solar panels, ensuring access for cleaning and maintenance.

UK Green Energy Installations will carry out a comprehensive survey followed by a report so you can see how many panels your roof can accommodate around your skylights, rooflights or other roof features.

GivEnergy Software for Solar and Battery Storage

The GivEnergy software is a great way of monitoring and managing your home energy system. Download the app from the Google Play store, or from the App Store. You can also access it directly on the GivEnergy website where you can see more detail and have access to more settings.

What can you monitor on the givenergy app?

The app allows you to monitor a number of things including:

  • How much energy is being generated by your solar panels

  • The charge status of your GivEnergy battery or batteries

  • Your grid import energy

  • Your export to grid

  • See how much energy is going in and out of the your home

What can you manage on the givenergy app?

As well as monitoring a range of power generation and usage, the app allows you to see and change settings to suit your requirements including:

  • Changing the times when you import energy from the grid to maximise cheaper rates

  • You can also change the percentage of power you wish to charge the battery using power from the grid (see example below)

  • Define the times you’d like to discharge your battery’s to utilise the energy for your home

  • Control your reserve and usable capacity

GivEnergy App Battery Charging Status

Example - you know the weather isn’t going to be great on Friday for generating energy, so you need to adjust your settings in the app. The app allows you to A) define when to charge your battery from the grid and B) by how much (percentage). As the weather isn’t looking great you decide to charge your battery to 80% Thursday night from 7pm when you can access a cheaper rate / tariff. You then allow the solar on Friday to top it up to 100% ready for the weekend.

Use Solar Energy as a Backup for Power Cuts

Did you know, you can ask your installer to install a changeover switch at the same time as your solar panels. This will allow you to use your solar energy to act as emergency power, where the power supply by way of the inverter can send energy back to the existing consumer unit via a changeover switch. This then allows the customer to use the storage in the batteries when there is a power cut.

Fitting Solar Panels to-the-letter

We’ve heard of some horror stories regarding solar panel installation and at UK Green Energy Installations we know how important it is to ensure installation is completed to-the-letter.

We go through a myriad of processes to ensure everything is spot-on and ultimately the installation is completed to-the-letter and using the manufacturer’s installation guidelines, including everything from angles to torque.

Tax Relief on Battery Storage Solutions

Already installed solar panels and thinking about installing battery storage?

You can now benefit from tax relief on battery storage solutions from the 1st of February 2024. As part of the government’s initiative to reduce carbon emissions, tax relief has now been applied to battery storage solutions.  Whether you’re thinking of utilising battery storage to store solar energy, or simply want to store energy from cheaper night time tariffs and use during the day.  Now is your chance to save on the initial purchase price of the hardware.
