THE CHALLENGE

Having a solution that keeps everything simple and easy to use but still ticking all the required boxes from both the landlord’s, and client’s perspective such as:

• Durable and robust construction

• Consistent with look and feel of the office building

• Easy plug-and-charge usage

• Wall mounted

• Power requirements including the total loading of the building

THE SOLUTION

The solution for Adatis was to install two single outlet single phase 32 Amp chargers with no smart technology and a simple key for activation.

Installation

Having discussed the requirements with the landlord and needs of the client, UK Green Energy Installations suggested the best option to accommodate the requirements was the Rolec-Securicharge, with 32 Amp single outlet units.

Power analysis of the existing installation was needed to ascertain if the current electrical supply to the building was sufficient. This was done using clamp meters and looking into historic electricity bills.

The Rolec Securicharge units were wall mounted directly opposite two parking spaces (allocated to Adatis), with a small key to quickly activate the charge once the car is plugged in.

Earth Rod

To comply with current regulations, a local earth rod and inspection pit have been installed close to the units.

THE EV CHARGING POINT FROM ROLEC

The British built ROLEC EV charging points made from a good strong steel construction, make this unit ideal for a car park with UK weather conditions. Water ingress from rain as well as UV and dirt are all variables that need considering.

Functionality

Having no smart technology installed keeps this charging unit ideal for a no frills plug-and-charge solution, that is ideal when time is of the essence.

LED indicators mounted on the front of this unit allow users to see if a charge is under way, simply by the colour of the LEDs.

Activation by a simple key

This charger has a small lock mounted on the side of the unit, allowing it to be activated very easily once the car is plugged in.
